Hi Bill

Stupid question, why not keep the working setup, mount the old home as
Data or whatever.
I encountered the same issues when I upgraded to the latest kermel.

There is a definite compatibility problem between my configs and newer
kernels. Running 3.2.0.24
works perfectly, but anything newer and no mouse and compiz crash etc.
My solution was just boot with the older kernel.
