This is known as the Windows tax, for real. aside, the eula states that you
dont own your copy, but you are merely renting it from Microsoft. Talk
about fine print!

I should have requested a refund for my laptop some months ago.
Hilton is right that we cant blame the retailers for Microsoft buying their
way into bed with the hardware vendors (they did the same with nvidia back
when), in fact a more appealing approach to the retailers will benefit
having them on our side :)
