Sorry, should have been more diligent. You will need to load the 32-bit
version of this library as opposed to the 64 bit version. On my Debian box,
the path is:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

The 64 bit version which is more likely to be on your system by default,
ain't gonna work.
