Good afternoon all

Currently I am in the market, and is interested in a job opening where I
can work more with Linux/Unix and improve my experience, after more than
18 years of working with Windows.

Job openings in Centurion, Pretoria, Midrand and/or Sandton is
acceptable although I will be willing to work in other areas as well.

I am well aware of the present situation in SA leading to the
availability of work and the employment law.
However despite 80% hearing loss, I am fluent in Afrikaans as well as
English and have a sound knowledge of the German language. I speak both
Afrikaans and English with no sign of disability whatsoever.

Regarding phone calls and hearing I am able to provide telephonic
support in certain circumstances. I have found that background noise do
have a detrimental effect on the telephonic conversation.

I am one of the first previously disadvantaged persons as I have more
than 80% hearing loss in both ears.

Currently my working Linux experience includes the maintenance of an
email-based system (ClearOS) as well as a PPTP VPN gateway for one of
our clients with 4 sites. The one positive aspect of this is that I was
forced to learn Linux in order to install and maintain this setup as I
was the person responsible for making the decision to go with Linux
instead of with Windows due to budgetary constraints. I also have good
experience in using Smoothwall (Linux) as firewall systems.

Because of this I want to work more with Linux and Unix-based systems,
in order to get more experience working with Linux as I am well aware
that there are other situations and problems that I can use to improve
on my existing skills.

Interested parties can contact me at emilschw at gmail dot com for a
detailed CV.

Kind regards

Emil Schweickerdt
