Hi,
what is the result of dpkg -l|grep -E "(extremetuxracer|etracer)" ?
The version in intrepid (0.4-1ubuntu1) contains a symlink to handle this:
ls -l /usr/share/games/etracer
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 2008-08-27 22:12 /usr/share/games/etracer -> extremetuxracer
