Public bug reported:
I installed karmic alpha on a system which also contains Windows XP
30_os-prober adds a entry to grub.cfg to start Windows
also 30_otheros, which is apparently created during the grub-pc package
installation, add another entry to grub.cfg also to start Windows; this
entry is syntactically wrong and is not shown when GRUB starts
firstly, I don't understand the need of 30_otheros at all; 30_other-os
works just fine
secondly, if this script is really needed in some weird setup or as
additional fail-back solution, it needs to be fixed
a) it uses the wrong partition number (hd0,0) instead of (hd0,1) in my
case
b) it uses --fs_uuid instead of --fs-uuid
** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
