[xubuntu-users] I have "Indicators" and "Notification Area" in my panel, are they both necessary?

But why? The GUI interface is identical (apart from the text) and
they seem to serve exactly the same purpose.
... not to mention that the interface doesn't make much sense anyway.
Why are there 16 items in the "Known Applications" area of Notification
Area but only 4 actually showing? Also what does "Clear Known
Applications" do?
It's all a bit of a mess IMHO.
