Had an hour to test our arsenal of broken hard drives. Even though I tested 14
drives that are broken in several ways, I wasn't able to reproduce the bug.

Knowing that the drive that displayed the bug initially had had its PCB
transplanted from another, I even tried some interesting permutations of
physically compatible, but otherwise incompatible PCBs and drives. And some
fully compatible ones. Nothing: drives would either work (and stall when they
hit errors, I haven't seen a single read error in dmesg), or not be detected as
USB devices at all.
