I think you're talking about openoffice.org Base -- the access
equivalent. I haven't used it for a while and i understand it's changed
substantially over the last few releases. I'd be surprised if there
were many users on this list. Instead, I'd try the openoffice.org user
lists & forums (I know, you don't like forums.. understandable!).

The openoffice support page is here:
http://support.openoffice.org/index.html
there's a base "howto" in french here (i'm assuming you'd just as soon
get your documentation in french):
http://fr.openoffice.org/Documentation/How-to/indexht-base.html
here's another tutorial site (they don't seem to have anything on base,
though):
http://www.tutorialsforopenoffice.org/
The list of openoffice mailing lists is here:
http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html (you would want the "users"
list, and you should subscribe or you're unlikely to get all the
responses to your questions). It's a very high-volume list though --
expect about 100 messages a day, if I remember correctly.
The French native-lang project is here:
http://fr.openoffice.org/
and their mailing lists are here:
http://fr.openoffice.org/contact-forums.html
The French project leads are very involved in OOo, and I expect they'll
be very helpful.

I don't think many people use messnger -- they're morel ikely to use
IRC, the chat protocol. I don't use a graphical chat client, so i'm not
sure exactly where to guide you on that.

Bon chance, et bienvenue!

Matt
