kubuntu and acroread

I have freshly installed kubuntu-5.10 after my hard drive died ... ;-)

My previous system was Debian/Sarge, so I thought I'd go ahead and try 
ubuntu/kubuntu.  Unfortunately, things haven't gone too well ...


I obtained 'acroread' (and friends) from the 'multiuniverse' and installed it.

This is what I see when I attempt to run it:

  $ /usr/bin/acroread
  /usr/bin/acroread: line 12: /usr/lib/Acrobat5/bin/acroread: No such file or directory


I've also downloaded the application from Adobe, but it doesn't work either.

Are others successfully using 'acroread'?

Using 'xpdf', but want to do much better,
