Using GParted via TigerVNC how to enable on LinuxMint?

I had a similar problem with starting synaptic on a machine connected via ssh. The solution I found somewhere was to use the command

sudo -E synaptic-pkexec

so for starting gparted it would be

sudo -E gparted

via ssh this works - didn't try it with vnc.
