The *Desktop* editions of Ubuntu are more and more geared towards a "one
click" install (or as close to that as possible). Supposidly, this makes it
easier (?). This is generally a trend for many Desktop oriented distros.
I think the *Server* edition is more configurable (eg such goodies as RAID and
LVM, file system types and arangements, installed software, etc.).
Ubuntu breaks up the desktop types into different "communities", each with
their own install media, rather that make that an install time selection,
although it is possible to change the desktop installed after installation.
