Chrome Update does not work

Ian, Thanks.

Since I do not remember how it was installed I installed Chromium using 
snap, after snap refresh. However that did not clear up anything, other 
install chromium. Chrome remains unchanged. Should I use chromium 
instead of chrome?

jay at polar:~$ sudo snap list chromium

jay at polar:~$ sudo snap list chrome
error: no matching snaps installed
jay at polar:~$

Chrome is still installed, however and works as it has been. Update 
still fails
