Hello, Oliver.

I am sorry - I did not mean to criticise you personally - I was
criticising the means of dissemination of the information.

I believe that you are very helpful to us - I think "the powers that be"
could be more helpful in their choice of dissemination of information,
to help keep us informed, by using the mailing lists, which have
universal access.

It goes to the issue of the nature of Linux and the published nature and
meaning of Ubuntu -

"Ubuntu is an ancient African word meaning ‘humanity to others’. It is
often described as reminding us that ‘I am what I am because of who we
all are’. We bring the spirit of Ubuntu to the world of computers and
software. The Ubuntu distribution represents the best of what the
world’s software community has shared with the world. "

and

"The mission for Ubuntu is both social and economic. First, we deliver
the worlds free software, freely, to everybody on the same terms."

Both the text citations are from https://ubuntu.com/about .

So, the information of what is happening, especially with updates and
problems with updates, should be disseminated to all, freely and
equally, through the mailing lists, rather than concealed in closed
rooms like the discord obstruction.

The hiding of the information in the discord closed room, rather than
disseminating the information freely on the mailing lists, is not
consistent with the published statements of the nature and objective of
Ubuntu Linux.
